WSJ -- In March 2008 I got what I thought was a great job with a big company in a selling position. I became disabled in mid-August, the victim of an embolism. Shortly after getting out of rehabilitation, I told my boss I was ready to come back. He said I was being laid off and that if anyone calls, my employer will say I am on leave of absence. I am 56 and a bull of a worker and now I face having this other blotch on my resume. What do I say when asked about my poor performance because of this disability and my layoff?
