CHICAGO – Up to three exhibiting companies will be honored by the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS) with SLAS New Product Award (NPA) Designations for presenting new products that are judged to be exceptional at SLAS2014, the Third Annual SLAS Conference and Exhibition, which will be held Jan. 18-22, 2014, at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, Calif., USA.
Each year, a panel of SLAS judges scrutinizes new products and services on display at the SLAS Exhibition and awards up to three SLAS NPA Designations. The judges consider achievement in four compelling areas:
- Market opportunity - narrow or broad in scope
- Impact on the field of laboratory automation, screening, technology and drug discovery
- Extraordinary technical originality
- Quality of supporting data
“The SLAS Annual Conference and Exhibition has emerged as an exceptionally popular and important place for companies to launch new products,” says SLAS President Jeff Paslay. “Last year, more than 60 new products were unveiled at SLAS2013. Every new product is of interest to SLAS members, but some new technologies always stand out. The SLAS New Product Award Designations salute those landmark innovations.”
To be eligible for consideration, exhibiting companies must complete and submit brief entry forms by 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19. Product entries must be less than one year old (launched since SLAS2013, Jan. 12-16, 2013), must be on display at the SLAS2014 Exhibition and have supporting performance data available. Major product enhancements are eligible.
Winners of SLAS NPA Designations at SLAS2013 included the Andrew by Andrew Alliance; the GenCell GT-Series by GenCell Biosystems; and the LumaSpec800 by Prior Scientific.
