Elekta’s MOSAIQ Oncology Informatics Powers Continuous Learning To Support Value-Based Medicine

Elekta’s 25th Annual User Meeting presentations highlight comprehensive oncology system’s advanced workflow and analytics

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Elekta (STO:EKTAB) is showcasing its MOSAIQ® Oncology Informatics software platform at the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) 2016 Annual Meeting, taking place September 25 – 28. MOSAIQ® is a comprehensive, open EMR designed to meet the need for efficient, automated and ongoing continuous improvement processes that support value-based health care.

“We have much more information and have saved considerable time with these new tools.”

At the Elekta User Meeting, which took place September 24, more than 800 customers interacted in customer-led sessions that demonstrated MOSAIQ’s contribution to enhancing efficiencies through intelligent automation and actionable analytics that improve clinical efficiency and simplify clinical, operational and financial performance monitoring.

“Combining tasks into customized workflows saves time and assures both completeness and adherence to standard processes, which enhances patient safety and ensures consistent, high-quality care,” said Maurits Wolleswinkel, EVP Global Marketing and Strategy at Elekta. “For 25 years, Elekta has provided the leading comprehensive open oncology electronic medical record and we have maintained our commitment to investing in advanced informatics solutions that meet our customers’ evolving needs.”

In addition to the intelligent automation that MOSAIQ provides, Elekta customers are now taking advantage of MOSAIQ Oncology Analytics. Marc Posner, MD, Medical Director, Center for Advanced Radiation Medicine at Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital, led a compelling session on analysis of data and efficiency with MOSAIQ Oncology Analytics.

“MOSAIQ Oncology Analytics has enabled us to automatically monitor and demonstrate clinical quality and effectiveness, operational efficiency and financial effectiveness,” said Posner. “We have much more information and have saved considerable time with these new tools.”

Dr. Posner drove home the message that MOSAIQ Oncology Analytics reduces the amount of time needed to chase down information and compile reports. When staff spend less time collecting information and more time consuming and acting on information, that provides a real boost in productivity. MOSAIQ Oncology Informatics is the first platform that enables continuous learning and facilitates the value-based approaches to medicine that are urgently needed to improve both patient outcomes and utilization of health care resources.

Interactive examples are being demonstrated at Elekta’s ASTRO booth (#7017).
