Editas Medicine Names Andrew Hirsch To Board Of Directors

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., May 31, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Editas Medicine, Inc. (NASDAQ:EDIT), a leading genome editing company, today announced the appointment of Andrew Hirsch to its board of directors, effective immediately. Mr. Hirsch will also serve as chairman of the audit committee of the board. He is currently Chief Financial Officer of Agios Pharmaceuticals.

Mr. Hirsch has more than 20 years of experience in a range of strategic and operating roles in business, including more than 15 years in the biotech industry. Earlier in his career, Mr. Hirsch held various leadership roles at Avila Therapeutics and Biogen. Mr. Hirsch holds an MBA from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
