UAE, 18 November 2019 – The Dubai Government Workshop (DGW), in collaboration with the Emirates Specialty Hospital, celebrated the World Diabetes Day, which falls on November 14 of every year, to help increase public awareness on treatment methods for diabetes and other chronic diseases. The commemoration showed that one of DGW’s priorities is to support socially relevant activities in the emirate.

Fahad Al-Raisi, Deputy CEO of DGW, said: “The Emirates Specialty Hospital is an important and strategic partner for us in our ongoing initiative to educate our employees and the members of the communities we serve about the rising prevalence of diabetes in our society. We work within the framework of good leadership and proper guidance to help ensure a safe and healthy environment for all Dubai residents, in line with Dubai Health Strategy 2021. We held numerous awareness activities to create a deeper public understanding of different chronic diseases as part of our celebration.”

Its activities included lectures, early diabetes screening, and HBA1C, RBS, blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol testing. Additionally, DGW put up a station where medical specialists shared more information about blood sugar and proper nutrition with the employees.
