Digilab will also be prepared to assume the OEM customer interface responsibility for existing Boehringer Ingelheim microParts accounts in the Americas and Australia. In addition to developing new OEM applications and customers, Digilab will be using its channels to sell UV/Vis end user applications packages where affordable field use or laboratory bench solutions are not now available.
With over 50 years of applications, systems, and solutions expertise in spectroscopy Digilab is well positioned to create both the OEM partnerships and end user relationships needed to assure widespread adoption and use of microParts’ optical micro-system-technology components and products. Target markets and applications for the Digilab microParts’ microspectrometer are broad covering such high growth areas as life sciences and healthcare, industrial process control, and security. microParts’ microspectrometers are OEM components today of applications in each of these major global markets.
Dr. Joachim Eicher, Senior Vice President of Boehringer Ingelheim microParts commented “although conventional spectroscopic instruments and devices can analyze just about any material or biological substance to determine its unique “molecular signature,” these devices will truly become ubiquitous when they are miniaturized sufficiently to be put into the hands of end users for point of use applications. We are confident Digilab’s commitment to technology and product platforms in sample preparation, bioinformatics (biomarkers), and spectroscopy makes them uniquely well suited to fully develop the at-line, in-line, and handheld market potential of microParts’ microspectrometer product line in the Americas and Australia. Boehringer Ingelheim microParts applications tailored spectral sensors offer the immediate results with the optimal specificity required to make these types of applications possible.”
David T. Giddings, Digilab’s President & CEO commented “the Boehringer Ingelheim microParts relationship is an important step forward in our company’s strategy to “Identify What Matters” for the life sciences research, near patient care, and point of need molecular detection and analysis markets. Digilab’s relationship with microParts goes beyond this exciting distribution partnership as we want to make use of their extensive microsystems and microfluidics technologies, development, and manufacturing expertise to support Digilab’s advanced molecular spectroscopy product and applications development programs.”
