Diagnostic Tests For Alzheimer’s On The Horizon

According to the National Institutes of Health, Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the most over diagnosed brain-related disorder among older adults in the US. The disease is particularly difficult to isolate because it is one of more than 70 conditions that cause dementia. Despite the availability of diagnostic methods that include symptom history, cognitive tests and emerging biomarker tests, none of them is 100% accurate. In theory, an AD biomarker test would be less expensive, more definitive, require less time, reduce patient discomfort and be widely available
