July 9, 2013 -- About a week after China officials raided three major GlaxoSmithKline offices in China, looking for evidence of “economic crimes,” more of the story has been revealed. It is alleged that GSK’s sales force in Chengdu hatched a scheme to pay doctors to prescribe Botox, the wrinkle treatment, offering payments up to $490. Apparently, China authorities have proof that GSK’s salespeople talked about a pay-per-prescription plan. However, so far, they do not have evidence that any doctors were actually paid.
