CXR Biosciences, part of the Concept Life Sciences Group, has been crowned winner of the ‘Science and Technology Business of the Year’ award at The Courier Business Awards for the second year running. The award was presented to the company on Saturday 29th October at an official awards ceremony which was held at The Apex City Quay Hotel in Dundee.
The Courier Business Awards were set up to find, and celebrate, the best in the world of commerce in East Central Scotland. They serve to identify and reward entrepreneurs and innovators and recognise the region’s finest products and produce.
Dundee based CXR Biosciences is provider of high-value advisory toxicology laboratory services. It uses its extensive toxicological expertise and state-of-the-art laboratory facilities to help customers solve issues relating to the safety of compounds, and helping them select the best chemical or drug candidates for further development. CXR designs and runs custom laboratory programmes for leading multinational pharmaceutical, agrochemical, chemical, consumer product and biotechnology companies. The company employs nearly 40 highly experienced staff at its base at the Dundee Technopole, and generates highly skilled scientific jobs for the local area.
In its comprehensive award submission, CXR impressed judges with details of its impressive growth, considerable investment into its local state of the art laboratory facilities and plans for future growth by using its renowned scientific expertise and experience to develop new service areas. CXR also demonstrated its commitment to the local area by highlighting its plans to expand its laboratory footprint in Dundee and to recruit further local industry experts as well as continuing to develop its existing pool of scientists in the region. The company also has a close links with Scottish academia and is an active member of the Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce and BioDundee.
