Creative Animodel Release: New Method To Remove The AIDS Virus, Animal Experiment Has Been A Success

In February 22nd, researchers developed a new method that is expected to help patients to remove HIV from the body. The creative animals experiment has been a success.

HIV, like other retroviruses, the genetic material of which will be integrated into the human genome to replicate when reproducing. Although anti retroviral therapy can effectively inhibit HIV reproduction at present, this kind of virus can not be eradicated. So the virus can stay a latent dormancy state during the treatment. Once the treatment is discontinued, they will start copying.

An important tool called molecular orientation method for protein evolutionary transformation was used by researchers to develop a recombinant enzyme Brec1. In vitro cell specimens and the experimental rats showed that this recombinant enzyme could accurately identify the location of more than 90% clinical common HIV strains and safely accurately “cut out” the provirus in the genome of the infected cells completely.

The original virus is potential virus genome presented in the host chromosome. Experiment showed that this method did not destroy the host cell and normal gene function. After the original virus is cleared, immune system interfered by HIV genetic material is expected to return to normal.

The researchers said this method was expected to bring fundamental changes in AIDS treatment, and make the cure possible. On the animal experiments, the researchers have been allowed to do the next step of preliminary clinical trials on AIDS patients.
