Cook Medical to Add About 50 Employees to Technology Facilities by End of May

Cook Group has notified Spoon River College that about 50 more people will be hired by the end of May for its medical-device and polymer-technology plants in Canton, Mayor Kevin Meade told City Council members Tuesday. The college provides testing for job applicants for those facilities. Meade said this means that “Cook is ramping up employment and SRC is ramping up testing” for those jobs. “Cook is growing and needs to review more qualified applicants as quickly as possible,” Carol Davis, vice president of community outreach at SRC, said in a news release. “We have tested over 1,000 applicants since Cook Medical opened. Cook is now seeking new applicants from throughout the Spoon River College District and beyond, and we are pleased to continue to assist them.”
