Chinese Pandemic Vaccine Found Effective, Safe - Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Reveals

MedPageToday -- A monovalent vaccine against the H1N1 pandemic flu was safe and effective in a mass-vaccination campaign in Beijing. The vaccine, similar to those developed and used in the U.S., had a safety profile like that seen with seasonal flu vaccines and appeared to reduce the incidence of the pandemic flu among school-age children, according to Fujie Xu, PhD, of the CDC and colleagues at the Beijing Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the Chinese capital.
