7 May 2013, Stoke-on-Trent, UK - Ceram, the materials development and testing company, has recently invested in GPC (Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC), a technique which enables the molecular size distribution of polymers to be determined.
Steve Newman, Product Manager, Testing at Ceram says:
“GPC allows us to both characterise polymers and understand their performance, something which our clients in the healthcare sectors, in particular medical device, bone cement and packaging manufacturers, need to develop new products and improve existing ones.
This technique is particularly useful in the analysis of polymer wear and degradation, helping our clients to understand why their products may be failing.”
