SCHENECTADY, N.Y., July 20 /PRNewswire/ -- CardioMag Imaging (CMI) is pleased to announce the appointment by its Board of Directors of Dr. Michael Lahoud as its new President.
Dr. Lahoud (Joe) will arrive at CMI on July 23, 2007, coming from VSM MedTech Ltd., Vancouver, Canada, where he was responsible for Operations, Development, Engineering and Manufacturing. His responsibilities there included directing a combined staff of approximately 80.
Dr. Lahoud’s extensive technical and management expertise and accomplishments in varied business areas, including start-up business and banking, will help guide CMI into its next phase of growth, initially through clinical data collection and pursuit of insurance company reimbursement for CMI’s unique functional cardiac diagnostic system.
Dr. Lahoud received his B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and his Ph.D. from the University of Natal in Durban, South Africa. He spent 2 years as a Post- Doctoral Fellow at the University of Cambridge, England. Following his Post- Doctoral Fellowship he was invited to the University of Leeds where he spent 4 years lecturing and consulting in the areas of power electronics and power system stability and control. He also gained extensive project management experience internationally working in a multicultural environment across numerous European countries. Subsequently, as Technical Director of a management consulting company specializing in marketing strategy development and business process change, he was responsible for the design, development, customer service and quality control for all projects. At VSM MedTech Ltd., Dr. Lahoud gained experience in a technology similar to that used by CardioMag, and whose overlap will be of great benefit to the Company.
