In his position, Mr. Owens will concentrate on gaining OTC distribution with major retailers to promote Blaine Mag-Ox 400(R), the #1 doctor recommended magnesium supplement on the market. Chris will be instrumental in evaluating and adding innovative over-the-counter products to complement the existing Blaine product portfolio.
Previously, Mr. Owens worked as a National Account Manager, then Director of Retail Sales for Omron Healthcare, the worldwide leader of blood pressure monitors, thermometry, weight management, and respiratory products. At Omron, Chris was part of an outstanding sales force capable of responding to rapid growth, expansion of existing product categories, and new product initiatives. At Blaine, he has similar plans in order to expand the existing product category and new product initiatives. Prior to Omron, Chris worked as a Key Account Manager with Roche Diagnostic, as National Sales Manager for the Diabetes Shoppe Program at Amerisource and as Field Sales Manager at FoxMeyer/McKesson Drug Co.
Blaine has already gained over-the-counter distribution in over 28,000 locations, including Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, Kroger, Brooks/Eckerd, Albertson’s and other fine retailers. This move represents one of the first steps in a bold, new sales and marketing strategy for the company -- which had traditionally marketed the supplement directly to physicians and pharmacists -- and for the product, which had previously been sold behind the counter, even though no prescription was required.
