Lyon, January 12th 2011 – BioVision, the World Life Sciences Forum, obtained the International Year of Chemistry 2011 label (www.chemistry2011.org/) for its contribution to chemistry.
The 7th edition of BioVision will take place at the Palais des Congrès convention center in Lyon (France) from March 27th to March 29th 2011. Over 200 internationally renowned speakers, scientists, businesspeople and representatives of civil society and non-governmental organizations will meet to discuss and debate on major scientific, economic and societal issues in life sciences. The programme can be divided into three conference tracks : “Decision-makers’ Perspectives " is made up of 6 plenary sessions ; “Scientific Advances” will tackle 12 themes through 36 twenty-minute talks and 12 round tables on healthcare, environment and nutrition; and “Business in life sciences”, new track for 2011 that will gather 28 international industry experts in 4 workshops.
The International Year of Chemistry 2011 label (IYC 2011) pays tribute to the participation of 3 chemistry Nobel Prizes to BioVision (Ada Yonath, Roger Tsien, and Jean-Marie Lehn) and several sessions and round-tables focusing on chemistry applications in the environment or nutrition fields.
