As thousands gather in Boston this week for the annual BIO convention to strike a deal, job hunt and generally schmooze, a pair of reports have just been released that offer a mixed picture. On one hand, R&D spending and revenue were up, when adjusting for some large acquisitions, but financing remains tough and the employment picture has improved, but remains soggy when compared with the world before the Great Recession began in 2008.
