Bioprocessing Professionals Gather in Providence for This Year’s BioProcess International Conference & Exhibition

WESTBOROUGH, MA--(Marketwire - September 20, 2010) - Today IBC launches its annual BioProcess International Conference & Exhibition in Providence, Rhode Island. Every year this event brings together 1500+ bioprocess professionals from all around the world to share cutting-edge advances in the bioprocess development and manufacturing field.

This year the event is in the Rhode Island Convention Center, located in the heart of downtown Providence, Rhode Island. This New England location offers the attendees the options for two industry site tours to Amgen's BioNext Facility and Xcellerex's FlexFactory® facility.

"This event has truly become the one 'must-attend' meeting in the biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry," notes Conference Director Barry Walsh. "Attendees appreciate the quality of the scientific program and the knowledge that most of the industry leaders will be there."

The program features over 135 presentations from senior executives, including four keynote addresses that will be presented by Helen Winkle, CDER, US FDA, W. Blair Okita, Ph.D., Genzyme Corporation, Thomas Vandern Boom, Ph.D., Hospira, Inc. and S. Robert Adamson, Ph.D., Wyeth Biopharma. Topics include QbD, strategies for biosimilars, and sustainable cell culture development.

The four conference tracks are: managing manufacturing networks, product lifecycle management, cell culture & upstream processing and recovery & purification. In addition to the four main tracks there is additional programming on vaccine development & production, raw material & supply chain and coverage of emerging analytical requirements.

Attendees of BioProcess International will have also access to presentations at the co-located 10th Annual Formulation Strategies for Protein Therapeutics conference on September 21-23.
