BioElectronics Corporation Announces Significant Innovation in Back, Neck and Body Pain Relief

FREDERICK, MD--(Marketwire - June 08, 2011) -

BioElectronics Corp. (OTCQB: BIEL) (PINKSHEETS: BIEL), the maker of inexpensive, disposable drug-free anti-inflammatory devices, is pleased to announce a significant advancement for the relief of back and body pain, based on its award winning therapeutic technology. The core technology of the new ActiPatch pain relief product remains the same, but the new version utilizes a revolutionary methodology for attaching the product to the body at the exact site of pain. This innovation is expected to further boost the very high rate of effectiveness of the product while making ActiPatch much more convenient to use and more comfortable to wear for those with active lifestyles.

“Over the past few years there has been little doubt about the effectiveness of our therapy, but the past form factors have been a bit difficult to wear and somewhat uncomfortable,” commented Andrew Whelan, CEO of BioElectronics. “We have now solved these issues with this significant innovation. The newly designed ActiPatch Pain Therapy is cheaper for us to manufacture, extremely comfortable to wear and stays put exactly over the site of pain. As if all of this is not enough, we will be delivering this product to the market at a price that will allow retailers to offer it to consumers at a price of $19.99, which is the suggested price point for placement on the very lucrative analgesic isle at retail stores.”

The new ActiPatch form factor is very innovative. You simply peel off the label and place the device directly on the skin at the site of the back pain and the ActiPatch does the rest. Most people will simply forget they are wearing the ActiPatch as they go about their daily activities. The ActiPatch can easily be removed for bathing and then replaced. The therapy provides 7 days of continuous pain relief.

Shipments of the newly engineered ActiPatch Back Pain Therapy product will begin this summer. The product use the same core technology that was awarded the Wall Street Journal’s Medical Innovation Award, but this new version attaches to the site of pain using an innovative hypoallergenic medical adhesive that allows the therapy producing loop and the electronics module to lie completely flat against the skin. This provides the best level of contact for the therapy while at the same time not interfering with movement of the user.
