Weak Patent Laws Keep Multinationals Away August 20, 2007 – Over the past two years, five multinational pharmas have announced their intentions to set up R&D facilities in China, not India. Weak patent protection has been the reason, according to the India Daily. It would be more economic for the companies to establish facilities in India, because many of the drugs being developed are remedies for tropical diseases.
