A realignment of Bayer HealthCare’s Radiology and Interventional business is resulting in the layoff of roughly 50 people, the company said. The Radiology and Interventional business is a former Medrad business. The move consolidates the business under the Bayer Medical Care leadership team and structure and is meant to boost competitiveness, said spokeswoman Katie Kirkpatrick in an email. “With this realignment and adjustment to its plans, Bayer believed it could reduce its 2013 budget target for positions by approximately 100 positions in Radiology & Interventional. After eliminating open positions and taking advantage of attrition, the impact on individuals was roughly half of that,” she said.
