PITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bayer today reported increased annual sales growth in North America led by strong gains in the company’s MaterialScience subgroup. Total sales in the region were EUR 8,228 million ($10,861 million*), an increase of 6.8 percent**, compared with the full year 2009 sales of EUR 7,705 million. This is equivalent to nearly 25 percent of Bayer’s global sales of EUR 35,088 million, maintaining North America’s position as the second largest region for Bayer after Europe. Annual sales within the United States remained steady at $9,402 million compared to $9,406 million for the full year 2009.
