Visit Booth 735 to see powerful microscopes, imaging solutions for biological research, and a digital classroom demonstrating the future of microscopy education
ZEISS announces it will be highlighting a wide range of microscopes and imaging solutions at the American Society for Cell Biology (ASCB) annual meeting, which takes place December 12-16, 2015, at the San Diego Convention Center, San Diego, CA. On display at Booth #735 will be ZEISS LSM 880 confocal microscope with Airyscan and ZEISS Axio Observer inverted research microscope, which is equipped with the ApoTome2 optical sectioning tool and correlative array tomography (CAT). ZEISS will also feature a digital classroom, designed to showcase the future of microscopy education and demonstrate how to create hands-on, customizable learning experiences and build deep understanding in the classroom. ZEISS Stemi 305 cam, Primo Star HD, and Primovert HD microscopes, connected and controlled with the free Labscope iPad app, will be available to explore.
In addition to its display of research microscopes and imaging solutions, ZEISS will be participating in the ASCB TechTalks, taking place on Sunday, December 12, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., in the exhibition hall theater #1. Duncan McMillan, of Carl Zeiss Microscopy, LLC, will be presenting “New Acquisition and Detection Modes with ZEISS Airyscan.” Also speaking about their research using ZEISS imaging technology are Dr. Xufeng Wu, NHLBI NIH, discussing “Superresolution Imaging Tools for the Cell Biologist,” and Teng-Leong Chew, PhD, of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Janelia Research Campus, who will speak on “Accessing the emerging imaging technologies at HHMI Janelia Research Campus.”
ZEISS LSM 880 with Airyscan offers class leading resolution, sensitivity and speed. The optional and unique Airyscan detector collects 32 spatially distinct channels within the ‘Airy disc’ to simultaneously provide an increase in both resolution and speed.
ZEISS Axio Observer inverted research microscope platform offers accurate and reliable knowledge about living cells, with three different stand variants offering options for motorization and automation. The model on display has been paired with ApoTome.2, which offers optical sectioning using structured illumination free of scattered light. It is also equipped with correlative array tomography (CAT), which integrates immunofluorescence and SEM array image acquisition with computational image reconstruction, visualization, and analysis methods.
