William E. Groeper Named Interim President/CEO Of Norwegian American Hospital

CHICAGO, Sept. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- The Board of Trustees announced the appointment of William E. Groeper as Interim President/CEO at Norwegian American Hospital. Mr. Groeper, age 44, is currently the hospital's Chief Financial Officer.

"During this transition, Bill will ensure the hospital continues to provide premier healthcare to the communities we serve and a fulfilling working environment for our nurses, physicians, employees and extended Norwegian American Hospital family," said Perry Gulbrandsen, Chairman of the Board of Trustees. "For the last four years Bill and his finance team continuously improved the financial health of the hospital. He will continue on that successful path while assuming the operational duties of Interim President/CEO."

Mr. Groeper joined Norwegian American Hospital in 2000. Prior to joining NAH, Mr. Groeper was CFO at Advocate Healthcare, Trinity Hospital. Prior to that he was Director of Finance at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago.

Mr. Groeper has a degree from Lewis University and is a Certified Public Accountant. He replaces Michael E. Haley who took a hospital position in La Porte, Indiana.

Norwegian American Hospital is a 200-bed acute care hospital on Chicago's near north side. The hospital serves many diverse and vibrant communities including Bucktown, Humboldt Park, West Town, Wicker Park, Logan Square and Austin.
