BURNABY, BC, July 6 /CNW/ - Welichem Biotech Inc. (the “Company”) (TSX-V: WBI - News), is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Dr. Liren Tang as Chief of Biology Department and Senior Cell Biologist. Upon completing his PhD in Cell Biology from the University of British Columbia (UBC), Dr. Tang was a Post-doctoral Fellow at the BC Cancer Research Centre working on skin cancers. Subsequently, he joined the Division of Dermatology (now Department of Dermatology and Skin Sciences) at UBC. During these years, he gained extensive experience in establishing, developing and managing research projects on skin disorders, inflammatory diseases and cancer biology. As a productive researcher in skin and cancer biology, Dr. Tang has already over 30 publications and has been invited to speeches at international scientific meetings to his credit. He has been principal investigator and co-principal investigator in diverse basic and clinical research projects addressing various aspects of inflammatory and proliferative diseases, and has been honored with awards by various scientific and funding organizations.
