SEATTLE and FALLS CHURCH, Va VUEMED, provider of the VueTrack inventory tracking and reporting system, and Noblis, provider of the RASMAS recall management service, announce an agreement to provide interoperability of their solutions, resulting in enhanced supply-chain and patient safety services to customers.
The integrated system will allow hospitals that manage expensive perishable medical supplies in specialty areas (such as cardiac catheterization, interventional radiology, electrophysiology, endoscopy and surgical specialties) through VueTrack to give their healthcare providers the ability to identify and remove recalled products as soon as they are announced.
“VueTrack is one of the few medical inventory tracking systems on the market capable of alerting hospitals to product recalls through the recording and management of individual products¹ lot numbers,² stated Arnold Chazal, CEO of VUEMED. ³Now, by integrating with the RASMAS recall management service, we will have the ability to do this in real time, greatly increasing our value proposition to our customers.²
RASMAS delivers timely and actionable healthcare product recalls, comprehensive workflow capabilities, and access to a growing online community of healthcare professionals. Many leading hospitals utilize RASMAS web-based service to drive patient safety best practices, manage costs, and reduce exposure to product recall liability throughout the enterprise.
VueTrack¹s real time, web-reported analyses of inventory transactions provide the information needed by hospitals to avoid waste through expiration management, dynamically adjust inventory composition to physician preferences, reduce overall budget tied up in inventory, and to deliver immediate savings.
³We are thrilled to have this relationship and add VUEMED as another key partner in our efforts to extend the reach of real time recall service to all aspects of patient safety,² said Mark Lay, RASMAS Program Director.
³RASMAS is designed to drive best practices in recall management, and with VueTrack¹s barcode recognition and tracking technology interoperability, hospitals will have the ability to remove potentially harmful products much more efficiently and, thereby, improve patient safety with greater automation.²
The VUEMED-Noblis relationship aims to deliver a comprehensive, user-friendly solution to hospitals looking to improve patient safety and care, and at the same time improve operational performance and generate significant savings.
