IRVING, Texas, April 29 /PRNewswire/ -- VHA Inc., the national health care alliance, has named a new board chairman and added three new members to its board of directors. The new chairman and directors were elected at the annual VHA shareholder meeting, held this year in San Diego.
The new board chairman is Joseph A. Zaccagnino, president and chief executive officer of Yale New Haven Health System in New Haven, Conn. The new board members are: J. Lindsey Bradley Jr., FACHE, president and chief administrative officer of Trinity Mother Frances Health System, Tyler, Texas; Jerry K. Myers, a partner in CroBern Management Partnership LLP, which is based in Chicago; and Joel Wernick, president and chief executive officer of Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Albany, Ga.
“The new board members offer a wealth of experience and will provide VHA with new perspectives as we seek to strengthen our impact on members,” said Curt Nonomaque, president and chief executive officer of VHA. “VHA’s mission is to improve members’ economic strength by enabling them to improve patient care, operations and supply management. James W. Varnum, president of Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Alliance in Lebanon, N.H., ended his term as chairman of the board, but will remain on the VHA board as a director.
Leaving the VHA board are: John Crotty, a partner for CroBern Management Partnership, and Terri L. Potter, president and chief executive officer of Meriter Health Services, Madison, Wis.
