The Indiana Health Industry Forum Presents Innovention 08

Indianapolis, July 23: The Indiana Health Industry Forum will present its seventh annual Innovention conference showcasing Indiana’s health and life science industry on July 28-29 at the Indiana Convention Center. Informative and collaborative, Innovention provides numerous opportunities to contribute, learn and interact with life science leaders and key decision makers from across the state.

Innovention ’08 is expected to draw over 350 attendees. Building on a theme of, “Improving the Value of Healthcare”, discussion panels, featuring leading experts from around Indiana, will explore the ways Indiana is helping to reduce the costs of healthcare delivery through innovation, cutting-edge business practices, and smart growth. “This year you will have the opportunity to collaborate with industry leaders from across the state and learn how your suggestions for creating a statewide strategic plan have evolved. This conference is your opportunity to engage and be engaged by everyone and everything Indiana’s health industry has to offer”, says IHIF President and CEO, Mike Brooks.

The conference will be highlighted by the Keynote Luncheon Panel Presentation on Tuesday, July 29th, “Perception vs. Reality: Understanding the Economics of the Cost of Healthcare”. The luncheon is sponsored by Indiana University and features an in-depth look at the myths and misconceptions that make up the public’s perception of the cost of healthcare in the US. What are the true factors influencing healthcare costs and what are some innovative strategies for reducing the real cost drivers.

The Keynote Speaker is Dr. Peter J. Neumann, Director of the Center for the Evaluation of Value and Risk in Health at the Institute for Clinical Research and Health Policy Studies, Tufts Medical Center

Conference admission is $75 for IHIF Members or $100 for non-members. Walk-ins are welcome.
