MENTOR, Ohio, March 9 /PRNewswire/ -- SourceOne Healthcare Technologies, Inc., the nation's leading distributor of medical imaging systems, medical equipment, radiographic consumable supplies, and services to healthcare facilities, today announced the company has named Robert J. White to fill the newly created position of Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President. White previously served as Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing for SourceOne.

In his new role, effective March 1, White assumed responsibility for managing all day-to-day business of the company in the areas of Manufacturing and Operations, Service, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Care. The five vice presidents and directors who lead these areas will now report to White, while White will continue reporting to President and CEO Jerry C. Cirino, as he did previously. With White at the helm of operations, Cirino will be working closely with Platinum Equity to aggressively pursue the company's acquisition and diversification plans including opportunities that will pave the way for SourceOne to expand both inside and outside of the radiology marketplace. Platinum Equity is the global acquisitions firm that purchased Diagnostic Imaging (DI) and Health Care Products (HCP) to form SourceOne in 2002.
White's previous experience and success with SourceOne makes him a natural choice for COO. Since joining the company in 2003, White played a strategic and lead role in facilitating the operational and cultural integration of HCP and DI. Under his watch, White streamlined the sales and marketing operations of HCP and DI, fostered relationships with both new and existing business partners to bolster product offerings, launched new corporate image and marketing programs, and began mapping out a new sales approach designed to offer customers enhanced value-added, consultative services. This new sales approach, now in the implementation phase, is designed to better serve customers in their transition from analog to digital radiography by placing more SourceOne representatives and product specialists in the field to address both the core consumables line and the company's expanding equipment line. Since the merger, SourceOne has secured the position of U.S. market leader in imaging distribution.

White has 20 years of business experience, including 15 years at IBM in senior executive and sale/marketing roles. While at IBM, White was responsible for programs that resulting in significant growth within IBM's $2.5 billion Healthcare Industry unit. He also held senior executive and marketing positions with Chemdex and Accelrys, where he was successful in integrating highly successful sales organizations for both companies.
