Owlet Releases Android Version Of Smart Baby Monitor

Parents with Android phones can now view live vitals, monitor remotely through companion app

PROVO, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today Owlet announced availability of the Android version of its smart baby monitor companion app, much to the happiness and excitement of Android-using parents throughout the U.S. and Canada. Previously only available on iOS, the new Android companion app allows parents to view live vitals while their little one sleeps, and is designed to alert if heart rate or oxygen levels fall outside of range.

“The feedback from iOS users has been phenomenal, and we anticipate hearing the same from our Android group of Owlet parents.”

“Today is a big day, as even more parents will be empowered with this incredible technology in their homes,” said Owlet CEO and Co-Founder Kurt Workman. “The feedback from iOS users has been phenomenal, and we anticipate hearing the same from our Android group of Owlet parents.”

Released just last fall, the Owlet Baby Monitor uses hospital technology, pulse oximetry. This technology is miniaturized into a baby sock your little one wears to bed and is designed to send alerts to both a Base Station and the app if your baby’s heart rate or oxygen levels fall outside the norm. Since its launch, the company has heard from nearly two dozen families who were alerted by their Owlet when their baby stopped breathing, allowing them to intervene. Unintentional suffocation is a leading cause of injury death among U.S. children under the age of one.

The Owlet Baby Monitor companion app is free and available on Google Play for phones running Android 4.4 or higher (KITKAT). The Owlet Baby Monitor retails for $249.99 and can be purchased at www.OwletCare.com.
