BOCA RATON, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--gMed Canada, Inc., a subsidiary of gMed, Inc., a Modernizing Medicine company, announced today that Olympus Canada, Inc. (“Olympus Canada”) is now the exclusive distributor in Canada for gGastro’s Endoscopy Report Writer (ERW).
“We continue to focus on providing the most comprehensive offering to our clients”
This broadens the working relationship with Olympus, a global medical device and optical technology leader, which chose the gGastro ERW as a preferred replacement for its EndoWorks platform, which is being discontinued. The new agreement will expand this established collaboration internationally and classify Olympus Canada as the exclusive distributor of gGastro’s ERW for its current and future hospital customers in Canada.
“We are proud to further our relationship with Olympus,” stated Daniel Cane, CEO and co-founder of Modernizing Medicine. “With Olympus’ large share of the global gastrointestinal endoscope market, particularly in Canada, we can now reach hospitals and their gastroenterologists in need of streamlined workflow and documentation procedures. The software will be installed and supported locally in Canada by Olympus Canada, which will be a big convenience for clients.”
ERW is one of several modules fully integrated into the gGastro suite of solutions, which embraces the shift towards clinical quality care guidelines. The gGastro EHR system is the market leader earning Black Book’s top ranking for 6 consecutive years and is used in many hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers and gastroenterology offices across the United States.
gMed, in cooperation with Olympus, has developed a comprehensive conversion program allowing EndoWorks customers to view and search existing reports in the gGastro ERW. This solution should make the transition seamless for current EndoWorks users.
“We continue to focus on providing the most comprehensive offering to our clients,” stated Bill Collins, President and CEO of Olympus Canada. “Finding the best possible solution to replace Endoworks and enhance our client’s capabilities was critical as we move forward.”
