PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y., April 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- National Medical Health Card Systems, Inc. , a national independent Pharmacy Benefits Manager (PBM) announced this week that it has received the endorsement of The United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada -- most commonly abbreviated, "UA." Operating as a large affiliation, this multi-craft union has approximately 326,000 highly skilled enrolled members who belong to 321 individual local unions across North America.
UA employed the services of Rx Auditors & Consultants, a firm with 25 years of professional experience in the employee benefit field, to assist in the process of identifying the best PBM for their members. After a thorough auditing process, the UA identified NMHC as the best solution to provide better drug benefits for less cost to local benefit funds and its members. "NMHC's size, corporate culture, pricing, experience with labor coalitions, willingness to accept our strict requirements, and ultimately their commitment to UA, were the deciding factors. As a result of our extensive analysis, we unanimously agreed that NMHC would best fit our programs," said Martin Maddaloni, General President. Rx Auditors & Consultants will act as a liaison between NMHC and UA, working closely during the plan design phase and providing continuous monitoring of compliance and conducting spot and annual audits.
"We are extremely honored to be awarded this contract," said Patrick McLaughlin, President of NMHC Rx. "UA and their consultants had a rigorous selection process and a powerful commitment to maintaining care while managing costs. Our Preferred Partnership contracting model of fully aligning incentives is the perfect fit for UA and their membership." McLaughlin continued, "Earning UA's endorsement is another validation of our Total Healthcare Solutions approach to servicing our clients.
