LANSING, Mich., June 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Members of the Michigan Health & Hospital Association elected new officers and board members during the association’s Annual Corporate Membership Meeting last week. Officers of the 2004 MHA Board of Trustees include Georgia Fojtasek, chair; Larry Warren, chairman-elect; and, Richard Breon, treasurer. The board directs the Lansing- based association’s statewide representation of hospitals and health care providers.
Fojtasek, president and CEO of Foote Health System, Jackson, will serve as chair during the association’s 2004-2005 program year beginning July 1. The terms of service of Warren, executive director of the University of Michigan Hospitals & Health Centers, Ann Arbor, and Breon, CEO of Spectrum Health, Grand Rapids, will also span the 2004-2005 program year. Garry Faja, president and CEO of Saint Joseph Mercy Health System, Ann Arbor, will serve as immediate past chairman.
Newly elected MHA board members include Joseph Damore, president and CEO, Sparrow Health System, Lansing; Randy DeGroot, CEO, Community Health Center of Branch County, Coldwater; Joan Garrett, auxilian, Providence Hospital & Medical Centers, Southfield, and president of the Michigan Association of Hospital Auxiliaries; Dwight Gascho, president and CEO, Scheurer Hospital, Pigeon; Kenneth Matzick, executive vice president and COO, William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak; and John Schon, administrator and CEO, Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain.
Current MHA board members who were re-appointed to new terms of service are Michael Duggan, president and CEO, Detroit Medical Center; Ned Hughes Jr., president, Gerber Memorial Health Services, Fremont; Patrick Lamberti, president and CEO, POH Medical Center, Pontiac; Spencer Maidlow, president and CEO, Covenant Medical Center Inc., Saginaw; and Frank Sardone, president and CEO, Bronson Healthcare Group Inc., Kalamazoo.
Current MHA board members who will continue their terms of service are Jack Denton, president and CEO, Eaton Rapids Medical Center; Gerald Fitzgerald, president and CEO, Oakwood Healthcare Inc., Dearborn; Kathleen Griffiths, president and CEO, Chelsea Community Hospital; Wayne Hellerstedt, administrator and CEO, Helen Newberry Joy Hospital; William Jackson, president, Charlevoix Area Hospital; Elliot Joseph, president and CEO, St. John Health, Warren; Robert Milewski, president and CEO, Mt. Clemens General Hospital; John Rockwood, president and CEO, Munson Healthcare, Traverse City; Nancy Schlichting, president and CEO, Henry Ford Health System, Detroit; Dale Sowders, president and CEO, Holland Community Hospital; and Joseph Wasserman, president and CEO, Lakeland Regional Health System, St. Joseph.
