Prior to this appointment, Michael was a General Partner at TVM Capital, a billion dollar Euro-US venture capital fund. He also has entrepreneurial, business development and investment experience from work as a co-founder of the Xerox Venture Lab at the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center (PARC), as a VP Business Development for the emerging high tech consulting practice at McKinsey & Co., and as a Program Manager of two $100M+ investment programs at the Advanced Technology Program at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), US Department of Commerce.
Michael earned an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in Finance and Strategic Management and a PhD in Physics from the University of Califor- nia, Santa Barbara. He worked as a post-doctoral scientist at Bell Labs (Bellcore), Princeton University, and at the CEA research labs in Saclay, France. He received his BA in Physics from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, where he was a College Scholar.
