InformexUSA Moves to Charlotte, NC for 2011; Announces First INFORMEX® Specialty Chemicals Conference to be Held in Houston, TX.

Princeton, New Jersey, (February 16, 2010) – Informex Show Management today announced that its InformexUSA 2011 show will be held in Charlotte, North Carolina, February 7-10, and also unveiled details of a brand new event, the Informex Specialty Chemicals Conference, which will be held in Houston, Texas.

“As the leading fine chemicals tradeshow for buyers and sellers of high-value chemistry, we are constantly looking for ways to both expand the reach of the Informex brand and maximize the value for our exhibitors, sponsors and attendees,” commented Jennifer Jessup, brand director, Informex/UBM. “In the current economic climate, cost is an important factor and Charlotte offers many advantages to visitors, not least of which is affordability.”

Moving InformexUSA to Charlotte was designed to make the event more cost-effective and easier to travel to than San Francisco. Booth costs for exhibitors will also be dramatically lower. The cost of material handling to bring shipped items from the loading dock to the booth are a third lower than San Francisco, and 40% less than in Philadelphia. Electrical costs are 56% lower and labor 25% less than they are in San Francisco, while the savings over Philadelphia prices are 48% and 39% respectively.

Informex is also organizing the Specialty Chemicals Conference, which is being held in Houston, Texas on May 11, 2010. Launched in response to industry feedback and consultation with the Informex Specialty Advisory Committee, the event will feature a keynote speaker and will discuss the changing shape of the market, the impact of mergers and acquisitions on the industry, and how market changes have affected individuals and their roles. There will also be two panel discussions that will examine industry issues in greater depth. The first will evaluate the latest strategies for sourcing domestically and internationally, with a critique of current business strategies. The second panel will focus on capitalizing on a new market for existing products.

The conference will be concluded by two in-depth case studies. One will focus on how to use the most efficient technology in day-to-day operations that will enhance business, including catalysis, continuous processing and microprocessing. The other will look at the regenerative cycle of chemicals and how to minimize waste.
