New Name and Identity Reflects Company’s Focus on Enabling a New Paradigm in High Resolution Micro-Ultrasound Imaging for Prostate Cancer
TORONTO, Canada and MADRID, Spain, March 23, 2015 /CNW/ - Imagistx today announced that it will be operating as Exact Imaging (www.exactimaging.com). The new name and corporate identity coincides with the company’s commercial launch at the EAU (European Association of Urology) 2015 Annual Meeting in Madrid, Spain.
“Exact Imaging reflects our core benefit to urologists of clear and exact visualization of suspicions regions to enable better prostate biopsies through the use of our novel high resolution micro-ultrasound platform,” says Randy AuCoin, Exact Imaging’s President. “Urologists are looking for better ultrasound-based imaging tools to incorporate into their usual workflow. We believe that our novel micro-ultrasound platform will enable a new paradigm in resolution so that urologists will be able to clearly visualize and target suspicious regions for biopsy, in addition to performing systematic biopsy protocols. The goal is for better imaging and targeted biopsies to lead to improved patient outcomes”.
The company will be introducing its novel high-resolution micro-ultrasound platform at the EAU (European Association of Urology) 2015 Annual Meeting in the Exhibit Hall, Booth #G02 at the IFEMA Congress Centre in Madrid, Spain.
About Exact Imaging (formerly Imagistx):
Exact Imaging (www.exactimaging.com) is the world’s leader in high-resolution micro-ultrasound systems enabling real-time imaging and guided biopsies in the urological market for prostate cancer. Operating up to 29 MHz, the micro-ultrasound platform enables a whole new level of resolution comparable to MRI but with the benefits of ease of use, affordability, and being an extension of the current urological workflow. Using the Exact Imaging platform, urologists will now be able to visualize suspicious areas in the prostate and specifically target biopsies at those areas in addition to performing systematic trans-rectal ultrasound biopsy protocols. Please note that this system has not yet received FDA or CE approval, and so is not yet available for commercial release.
