Dr. Eugene Sun Joins HealthAmerica As Vice President Of Medical Affairs

PITTSBURGH, April 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Eugene F. Sun, M.D., has joined HealthAmerica and HealthAssurance as the vice president of Medical Affairs for western and northern Pennsylvania. In that role, Dr. Sun will work with the insurers’ management team on medical policy and medical expense management.

Dr. Sun brings more than 19 years of clinical and health insurance experience to HealthAmerica and HealthAssurance. Most recently, he served as the vice president of Medical Affairs for Qualis Health in Seattle, Washington. Prior to that, he worked for several years as an associate regional medical director for Merck US Human Health, three years as regional medical director at PacifiCare of Washington and Oregon, and he also was a medical director for United Healthcare of the Mid-Atlantic. Dr. Sun earned his M.D. from the University of New Mexico and he has an M.B.A. degree from the University of Washington. He did his residency locally at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
