US drug maker Johnson and Johnson withdrew its appeal over a first information report (FIR) filed against subsidiary DePuy Diagnostics , paving the way for criminal proceedings against the company. The FIR dates to 2011, when the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration filed a criminal complaint against DePuy for allegedly selling faulty ASR XL Acetabular hip implants to Indian patients.
