NORTHFIELD, Ill., Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- The College of American Pathologists (CAP) is pleased to announce the hiring of Kevin Donnelly as the new vice president and general manager of SNOMED(R) International, a division of the College of American Pathologists.
SNOMED(R) (the Systemized Nomenclature of Medicine) advances excellence in patient care through the delivery of SNOMED(R) Clinical Terms (SNOMED CT), the universal health care terminology that allows medical information to be useable and accessible whenever and wherever it is needed through the implementation and support of related products and services.
"Kevin brings with him seasoned experience, strong leadership and strategic skills with significant knowledge of information technology and the health care marketplace," said CAP Executive Vice President Nicki M. Norris. "As an experienced line and staff manager with an excellent tactical sense, Kevin will enhance the visibility and recognition of SNOMED CT, the universal health care terminology licensed last year by the federal government through the National Institutes of Health, National Library of Medicine. Donnelly joins the College after serving as vice president of health care for Alliance Consulting Group as an independent management consultant and as chief operating officer and board member for Business Logic Corp., all based in Chicago. A business executive and sales manager with more than 20 years of expertise in the health care field, Donnelly has a varied background, which includes a series of positions with increasing responsibility at Cardinal Health, Inc., Baxter International Inc., and Procter & Gamble Co.
While at Baxter International Inc., Donnelly served as vice president reengineering; as director of operations, hospital supply division; as director of national accounts, dietary products division; as regional manager, hospital supply division; and as account executive and sales manager, hospital supply division. Earlier, Donnelly served as sales representative for Procter & Gamble Co. Donnelly graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1981.
