ChromaGen USA Formed To Market And Distribute FDA-Cleared Diagnostic System For Management Of Color Blindness And Dyslexia

PEEKSKILL, N.Y., Dec. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- ChromaGen USA (http://www.chromagen.us), a company created to market a revolutionary, FDA-cleared diagnostic system for the management of color blindness, dyslexia and other related conditions, has obtained exclusive rights to distribute the ChromaGen(TM) system in the U.S. and Canada from U.K.-based Cantor & Nissel Ltd.

The Maxine Morgan group of companies, which includes ChromaGen USA, announced a marketing and sales alliance with Pech Optical Corp. of Sioux City, Iowa, the nation’s second largest optical products distributor. In addition, Pech Optical has been named the exclusive and official laboratory for fulfillment of all ChromaGen USA prescriptions.

ChromaGen USA was established by Roger Eichenholtz, age 62, a former chief financial officer, accountant and optical/fashion industry veteran with more than 35 year’s professional business experience and who is the founder of Maxine Morgan. Mr. Eichenholtz will serve as CEO of the new organization.

Pech Optical will educate, market and sell the ChromaGen system to its 12,000 optical practitioners in its 42-state service area. In addition, Pech Optical will work together with ChromaGen USA to familiarize optometric colleges in the U.S. with the ChromaGen system and the science of Haploscopic filters and lenses.

“Pech Optical is honored to have been selected as the first national organization to introduce the ChromaGen system to independent optometrists and ophthalmologists in the United States,” said Bob Pech, founder & CEO, Pech Optical Corp. “Beyond the commercial opportunity, we’re excited to be able to offer a maintenance system to the public that offers a profound difference in quality of life for those suffering from reading disorders and color blindness.”

ChromaGen is a unique, patented system developed to help patients who suffer from either color blindness (color vision deficiency) or academic skills disorder (ASD(TM)), a grouping of conditions including dyslexia, dyspraxia and dyscalculia. The system consists of eight colored haploscopic filters that have been proven to help patients to manage all of these disorders.

ChromaGen was developed in the United Kingdom in conjunction with Cantor & Nissel Ltd. and Clatterbridge Hospital in Cheshire, England. The entire system has been awarded Millennium Product status by the Design Council in Britain that recognizes forward thinking, challenging, creative and innovative products and highlights the best of British inventions.

“In trials, the ChromaGen lens system has been shown to be of benefit to those dyslexics who suffer from the perceptual distortion of text that makes reading more difficult,” said Roger Eichenholtz, CEO of ChromaGen USA.

“These distortions include blurring that can’t be corrected by refraction, movement of the letters or words, shimmering to the page, the words sinking into the white background of the page, pattern glare and patterns formed by the spacing between words and lines that interfere with reading. Although ChromaGen is a symptomatic treatment, and the underlying neurological condition remains unchanged in the majority of these patients, the ease of reading is improved.”

ChromaGen USA and Pech Labs will begin introducing ChromaGen to optometrists and ophthalmologists, who will start training and certification and dispensing prescriptions in January 2006.
