Burgess Group Extends Aetna Contract, Signs New Blues Plan

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- The Burgess Group, a leading Medicare-based decision support solutions firm, today announced the extension of their contract with Aetna for the BRS Ambulance Claims Pricer.

The BRS Ambulance Claims Pricer, a sub-product of the Burgess Reimbursement System(TM), is a powerful analytical and decision support tool which allows users to price ambulance claims based on Medicare rates and policy. Additionally, the Ambulance Claims Pricer provides detailed CMS payment policy information, such as rural status price adjustments and local prevailing rates, to help educate the user and assist in the decision-making process. Users of the Ambulance Claims Pricer have reported savings averaging over $100 per claim when used to re-price their out-of-network ambulance claims.

“There is a great need for healthcare organizations to have access not only to the current Medicare data and policy, but also the right tools to manage this data,” said Burgess Group Managing Partner Greg Burgess. “We are pleased that Aetna has recognized the caliber and quality of the information and service we provide, and chosen to extend their partnership with the Burgess Group.”

The Burgess Group also signed a three-year license agreement with a midwest Blues plan for the Burgess Reimbursement System.
