Washington, D.C. – BioBank Central, a web-based portal that provides information and news about the importance of biospecimens to research, announced today the launch of its BioBank Forum, an online forum to frame the debate and encourage new ideas on the critical issues in the field. High-quality biospecimens annotated with clinical data are foundational to the advancement of personalized medicine. The process of collecting, storing, and distributing biospecimens is complex and many issues arise throughout the process, including ethical and privacy concerns; logistical, financial, and IP issues; the need for standardization; and the need for connectivity across many constituencies.
