In a first, Nevada’s Barton Health System based in Lake Tahoe will implement a unique digital medicine for treating hypertension, one of the most common chronic medical conditions in the U.S.
Referred to as Proteus Discover, the new digital medicine will incorporate an ingestible sensor–activated upon contact with stomach acid–which communicates important information related to a patient’s vital signs and time the medication was taken.
