Arkansas Blue Cross Taps Perot Systems For Help With Medicare Part D Products; Agreement Accelerates Ability To Serve Prospective Members

PLANO, Texas, Sept. 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Perot Systems Corporation today announced that the company will provide inbound call center services to Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield. The new agreement will help Arkansas Blue Cross quickly deliver information to prospective members about its new Medi-Pak Rx prescription drug plan.

Arkansas Blue Cross is among several payers to take advantage of Perot Systems' specialized Medicare Part D business process outsourcing (BPO) unit. The unit is designed to meet customer demand for temporary and long-term help in servicing the new workload expected to be created by the introduction of Medicare Part D products and services. The flexibility of the unit will help Arkansas Blue Cross meet the anticipated increase in inquiries about its new program leading up to Part D open enrollment, which begins on November 15. Perot Systems' services also will allow the insurer to rapidly educate its prospective Medi-Pak Rx members about various plan designs it will offer in conjunction with the new program.
