Axonics Modulation Tech Granted Six U.S. Patents Related To Its Implantable Neuromodulation Technology

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Axonics Modulation Technologies, Inc., developer of the first rechargeable implantable Sacral Neuromodulation System (SNM) for the treatment of urinary and fecal dysfunction, announced today that the United States Patent and Trademark Office has granted Axonics six U.S. patents relating to implantable neuromodulation technology and recharging systems.

The U.S. patents granted over the past twelve months include US 9,044,614, US 9,308,378, US 9,221,119, US 9,166,441, US 9,205,273 and US 9,155,901. The Axonics patent portfolio represents technology developed under license from the Alfred Mann Foundation and technology internally developed by Axonics.

The Axonics neuromodulation platform includes, among other innovations, a miniaturized rechargeable implantable neuromodulation stimulator (IPG) that is approximately one-fourth the size of smallest currently marketed rechargeable IPGs and can be directed toward numerous clinical applications. The Axonics SNM embodiment is currently under review by its notified body for CE Mark approval, and upon achieving that regulatory milestone, the Company will immediately launch a post-market clinical study in select centers in the European Union.
