NORTHBROOK, Ill., May 9, 2019 /PRNewswire/ --Astellas is proud to announce that Chelsea Glinski, executive director, Reimbursement Strategy will be recognized by the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) as a 2019 Luminary during the 30th Annual HBA Woman of the Year Awards Ceremony for the contributions she’s made towards improving the lives of patients throughout her career.

Held in New York City, the event celebrates excellence in leadership among healthcare and life science industry leaders. HBA Luminaries are industry veterans and strong role models in their company who actively mentor and sponsor others helping to advance the careers of businesswomen.

“Chelsea’s deep passion for helping patients, rich industry background and proven leadership style make her a natural choice for the HBA Luminary recognition,” said Shontelle Dodson, senior vice president, Health Systems. “Chelsea is a role model at Astellas, not only leading the work to support greater patient access to treatments, but also demonstrating how a woman can successfully drive her career forward while continuing to be a devoted mother.”

Early in her career, Chelsea spent time in neuropsychopharmacology research supporting discovery of novel treatments for schizophrenia and depression. She combined her love of science with a Master’s in Business Administration transitioning into strategy and management consulting for the Life Sciences sector. It was following this experience that Chelsea joined Astellas, first in a role supporting strategy and operations for the Health Systems business unit and most recently leading the Market Access & Reimbursement Strategy function overseeing patient support and access programs.

“I’ve had many meaningful experiences in my career, but advancing patient access to Astellas medicines to improve their quality of life has been the most rewarding,” said Glinski. “I’m so honored to be an HBA Luminary and humbled to be in the company of so many amazing women.”

Chelsea credits perseverance and having strong female mentors with helping her make the bold jump from research to client-facing support roles. Through her work with Astellas’ Stellar Women Employee Resource Group, she pays this forward by actively coaching and supporting other women to create an environment of empowerment and advocacy that helps advance and inspire women at Astellas.
