AspenBio Pharma, Inc. to Present the Edgewater Research Investor Conference

CASTLE ROCK, Colo., Oct. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AspenBio Pharma, Inc. an emerging bio-pharmaceutical company dedicated to the development of novel drugs and diagnostics for animals and humans, has been invited to present at the Edgewater Research Investor Conference, scheduled for October 10-11, 2007 at The Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, Arizona.

AspenBio Pharma president and CEO, Richard Donnelly, is scheduled to present on Wednesday, October 10, at 8:15 AM MST.

The presentation will include a discussion on the recently announced strong results from the latest pre-FDA multiple-hospital study using its AppyScore human appendicitis screen and triage blood test. The sensitivity of the screen test was 98% in the large study. The study also demonstrated that a significant percentage of CT scans could potentially be avoided leading to important patient health, medical utility and cost benefits. The study showed 58% of unnecessary surgeries could have been avoided, which also further exemplifies how this new appendicitis screen testing concept can provide exciting new capabilities and benefits for emergency medicine. The high level of sensitivity also means the test could reduce the risk of sending patients home because of a false negative diagnosis.
