University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Purchases Newest RIS Platform From Carestream Health, Inc.

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Jan. 27 — The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center has purchased Carestream Health’s RIS system, the company announced today. The CARESTREAM RIS will be implemented at MD Anderson’s facility in Houston, Texas, which is dedicated to cancer patient care, research, education and prevention.

“We hope the flexibility of the CARESTREAM RIS will enable us to improve productivity and workflow by reducing existing manual processes. We also plan to eliminate some independent systems due to its advanced capabilities,” said Steve Venable, MBA, Director, Diagnostic imaging Strategic Operations, MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Carestream Health’s RIS delivers broad functionality that eliminates the need to purchase and integrate multiple independent systems. It can be quickly and easily customized so meaningful data can be natively captured, stored and communicated as part of a streamlined process that maintains a fully efficient workflow. Its innovative business intelligence tools provide easy access to personnel and equipment utilization data, which allows managers to make strategic decisions that help enhance profitability.

The RIS also offers built-in critical results reporting, a native ACR peer review module and fully featured structured reporting.
