Marshfield, WI – November 29, 2016 – DNA Banking is a simple, inexpensive step to preserving a genetic legacy for the benefit of family and future generations. Banking has the ability to lower health care costs, find answers to medical questions and supply the information necessary to confirm diagnosis.
The U.S. Surgeon General has declared Thanksgiving to be “National Family History Day.” To help promote awareness of family health history, PreventionGenetics, a clinical laboratory in Marshfield, is offering a DNA Banking Day from 3 - 6 p.m. on Thursday, November 29, at the company headquarters in the Marshfield Mill Creek Business Park, 3800 South Business Park Avenue. During the event, blood draws will be done by a registered phlebotomist at no cost. The DNA will be extracted in the lab, with the specimen frozen and securely stored until a future time when it can be used in genetic testing. The charge for the DNA Banking service is $149 for an individual person. There are family group prices available.
