Phlexglobal Expands UK Document Storage Facilities
The announcement marks further growth for the company, which was established in 1997, and which opened a US office just over a year ago. This additional facility will enable it to take on more large scale clinical trial administration projects, leading to around 20 new jobs in the UK this year alone.
Expanding on Phlexglobal’s previous 2,000 sq ft of storage space, the 12,000 sq ft building has been completely refurbished to provide up to 8,000 sq ft of specialist document storage space, in addition to staff facilities and training areas for in-house and client courses. The records centre has been fitted with air conditioning, humidity control and a gas suppression system, to maintain optimum conditions for document storage.
Phlexglobal now plans to increase the volume of clinical trial documentation it stores and predicts continued growth into 2013, as Karen Redding, global business development director of Phlexglobal explains: “The industry may be moving towards electronic management of documents, something which is highlighted by the increasing demand for our eTMF solution, PhlexEview, but the filing and storage of paper documents is still a crucial part of the TMF process for almost all companies.
“We have witnessed a boost in demand for our document management services, specifically TMF quality control in preparation for regulatory inspections and decided to invest in larger facilities to allow us to take on bigger projects. We expect to be managing large amounts of paper documentation for many years to come and wanted to be able to not only match but exceed the expectations of our clients.”
The new facilities add to Phlexglobal’s 2,134 sq m of specially designed document storage space in Malvern, Philadelphia, USA.
